To support ongoing growth within the Social Impact Team, we are looking for a business development officer for the Shared Apprenticeship Service to work with contractors and partners across Greater Manchester, Cheshire and Merseyside.

30 hours per week

The Shared Apprenticeship Service is an innovative collaboration between CITB and Calico Enterprise. The Shared Apprenticeship Service provides building contractors with the opportunity to support an apprentice even if they can’t commit to the full two or three year duration.  Calico employs the apprentices through the Shared Apprenticeship Service and manages their placements with building contractors working across the North West.  This role provides the successful candidate with the opportunity to be part of this award winning team, work on a project that is transforming the lives of young people across the North West and genuinely make a difference.

The success of the Shared Apprenticeship Service relies on a large number of placements to be agreed with contractors. The successful candidate will work with building contractors in order to secure short term work placements for our apprentices.  Once an apprentice starts a placement, you will provide pastoral support to the apprentice throughout their apprenticeship.

Our ideal candidate is a confident, driven sales professional with great influencing and organisational skills.

Your biggest strength will be your determination to deliver results.

You’ll be full of innovation and tenacity and have a genuine passion to support young people to succeed.

To be successful in this role you will have experience of:

  • Working within a sales environment, working to targets and winning new business
  • Developing and maintaining effective networks with a wide range of partners and key stakeholders
  • Using Microsoft Excel to produce key management information
  • Achieving results and outperforming targets for the benefit of the individuals involved and their communities.

To apply for this position, please submit your Cover Letter & CV to jobs@calico.org.uk – detailing how you meet the requirements of the job role.

For an informal chat about the role please call Jane Smith, Growth and Partnerships Manager on 01282 686310

This post will be subject to a DBS check.

Calico are committed to equality of opportunity for all staff and wish to be representative of the communities in which we work.
