BadKamra is Acorn Recovery Projects’ sound and vision production company. As well as delivering high class solutions for the private market, we capture and promote recovery from addiction through the journey of our clients. Acorn is an innovative charity providing a range of recovery services which enable individuals and their families to break free from drug, alcohol and other addictions. We help to find not just immediate recovery, but emotional, social, lifelong recovery.



Working 2-3 days per week and based in Stockport, we are now looking to expand our team by adding another volunteer position and are looking for a talented video editor to assemble recorded footage into a finished video. Each video should tell a specific, cohesive story or message which fits in with our vision and values.


Our vision – Through commitment, creativity and expertise, Acorn will inspire and motivate change within communities and future generations by enabling individuals to achieve a Life Worth Living.


The video editor should be familiar with an editing software such as Final Cut Pro and be Pro-active, engaging, creative, committed and passionate about media.


Video Editor responsibilities include:


Editing film projects according to each provided specification: this includes reviewing raw material, trimming footage, and creating a logical, compelling sequence

Sourcing and inputting music, graphics, and effects as appropriate

Creating a rough cut and final cut according to PAX Producer’s comments

Consulting with PAX Producer throughout the post-production process


Skills and attributes:


Some experience with editing software (e.g. Avid, Premiere Pro, Final Cut, iMovie) essential

Demonstrable video editing ability: knowledge of timing, continuity, and flow, Audio mixing and colour grading, using titles and export and upload

Understanding of social media and particularly of the importance of video in social media engagement (desirable)

Creativity and storytelling skills (desirable)

Organized, focused, and excited by the idea of helping a charity

Preferably with experience of some aspects of video shoot (lighting, production and filming)


Travel & Meal expenses paid: 2 – 3 days per week as agreed
