Routes to Employment

Every career journey starts somewhere – and we have several routes to employment that will help you to begin yours with Calico.

We are proud to offer a wide range of apprenticeships across the Group with current apprenticeships including Finance, Tree Surgery and Quantity Surveying.

Alongside this we can now access the apprenticeship levy to support current employees to gain work-related qualifications through the apprenticeship model, that otherwise would have been prohibitively expensive. These include Counselling, CIPD, Health & Social Care and Finance.

We also provide a range of typical Level 3 and 4 apprenticeships through the Constructing the Future programme, which at any one time manages over 60 apprenticeships. These apprentices are placed with trusted organisations across the North West.

For details of current apprenticeship opportunities, please see our current vacancies. For more information out opportunities through constructing the Future, please see the CTF website.

Want to help make a real difference to people’s lives?

Want hands-on work experience to help improve your job opportunities?

Got skills or experience that you want to put to good use?

If the answer to any of the above is “yes”, consider volunteering with us!

At Calico, volunteers play an important part in our business, by enhancing the service that we can offer our customers and bringing a different perspective to what we do. Many of our volunteers are ex-service users who help us better understand what our customers’ needs are and how we can best help them.

As a Calico volunteer, you’ll get a full induction to the service, the team and the role, as well as opportunities to take part in training and team building activities. We’ll take the time to understand what you want to get out of volunteering and help you to achieve your goals, through regular supervision and support sessions. If you’re giving your time and commitment to us, we want it to be rewarding for you – it’s important to us that it’s a two way thing!
